Sending a message

A German bus company has apparently introduced "chat buttons" so passengers can let other passengers know they are open to having a conversation. I was unable to find other reports on this in a quick net search so I don't know the details of how it works - and whether it can also let your co-riders know that you're not interested in chatting with them.
